Getting The Right Dryer Vent Cleaning Equipment
It is a fact that if you have a clothes dryer, you need to clean it properly. Dryer vent cleaning can not be
done unless you have the right equipment for it.
It is not imperative, however it will definitely make your life so much easier when it comes to
cleaning your own dryer vent. Unless it is cleaned on a regular basis, there is a real danger of accidental fires,
as the vent fills with lint that slips past the dryer's filter. This is when overheating is likely to occur
due to this lint build-up and the fire is almost certain to happen.
Here are some of the basic tools and dryer vent cleaning equipment that you need in order to
have an effective dryer vent cleaning as result:
The Linteater System cleans your dryer's filters very fast and
efficiently. Once the vents of your dryers fill with escaped lint, it is known for causing various
fire accidents and hazzards. The Linteater System removes the lint build-up from any dryers that you have at home with little
fuss. It is very easy to use with a sho vac or a cordless drill.
As accessories the Linteater System has plenty of extra brushes, various extension rods and
adapters that help clean your ducts thoroughly. It doesn't matter if the ducts are made of foil, aluminium or
vinyl, this system works just the same. The rotating action of the brush and the flexible rods go through the
several turns without a problem and the enclosed adapters will help get the air from the dryer to use as a vacuum
or blower in order to remove the lint that is scraped out through the cleaning process from the vent. At less than
$40 at Amazon this is a very good piece of equipment used for most clothes dryers.

Dryer vent brush - The dryer vent brush
is, I have to say honestly, crucial for avoiding any accidental fires at home due to problems with your
clothes dryer. You can find them often as cheap as $20. You can get a god stiff brush of 4 inches
around, which is basically the size of your dryer ducts. When you buy this vent brush it comes with a
flexible metal rod to which the brush is safely attached. This makes it easier for the brush to go
through ductwork.
-
Shop Vac - This is
a brand name for a vacuumer that can do quite a good job of cleaning your vent. Before cleaning it
out you might want to remove the vent from the back of the dryer, to allow easy access. Btw, if
you don't have a shop vac, you can even use a cordless drill for it. Basically the way you use the
Shop Vac is to vacuum the lint off the inner side of teh ducting, as this helps really get it all
out fast.
-
Lint trap brush, or a dryer lint brush - This
brush is a thinner and longer type than the previous and it's main purpose is to clean out lint from
the ducts in the dryer under the lint traps. Using one of these brushes really cuts down on your
cleaning time. You have a few good brands available in this category, including the Linteater System,
the Ontel Dryer-Max Lint removal kit or the Lint B gone dryer lint and dust removal. Each of them is
briefly described on the dryer lint brush page.
-
Rotary vent cleaner - This is a system that basically attaches to a rotary drill with
a rotating duct brush, flexible rods and various other accessories. This is another system that is
ensuring a perfect cleaning of your vent from lint, and it even breaks through built up clogs. Another
system highly recommended. Actually the Lint Eater System reviewed above is a good example of a rotary vent cleaner as
well.

As a last resort I can also recommend using a good dryer vent cleaning crew to clean your vent from
lint build-up. This is in case you don't have the previous equipment, or you feel you are not
technically equiped with doing the work yourself. There are many good cleaning services in every city
and town, and many times all you need to do is either look them up in the Yellow Pages, or make a basic
search online. A professional crew always has a website done, even if it's just a one page site with
contact information on it.
